Executive Director
G Saleski (they/them) — As Executive Director of StudentsNS, G is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization in accordance with the direction of the Board of Directors, notably as the organization’s primary spokesperson, lobbyist, and manager. Prior to this role, G served as the President for the Acadia Students' Union and is passionate about ensuring that all Nova Scotia postsecondary students have access to an equitable, high quality educational experience. They’re looking forward to addressing the barriers facing different demographics of students at universities and colleges, understanding that access to education looks different for every student.
G is excited to be working with student leaders to further the advocacy, policy, stakeholder and government relations on behalf of all students. They recognize the value and importance of creating space for students in decision making spaces, to amplify the student voice and needs. In their free time, G enjoys backpacking, making coffee and drinking coffee.
Policy & Research Officer
Kegan Palmer (he/him) — As Policy and Research Officer of StudentsNS, Kegan manages projects such as policy papers, briefing notes, public relations materials, and press releases, and supports the work of the Board and the Policy Committee. Kegan graduated from St Francis Xavier University in 2024 with a BA Honors in Political Science with a Concentration in Canadian Politics, minoring in Public Policy & Governance. During his time at StFX, Kegan encouraged student participation in the democratic process, serving as President of the Undergraduate Political Science Society and holding senior roles on student-focused political campaigns. Most recently, Kegan has served as Nova Scotia’s Regional Advisor to the federal cabinet through the Minister's Regional Offices. Raised in rural Cape Breton, Kegan has a deep appreciation for the importance of affordable, accessible, and quality post-secondary education for all Nova Scotians.
Kegan currently attends Dalhousie University for an MA in Political Science. He holds Canada and Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarships for his research on youth political engagement, looking at how governments can strengthen their democratic institutions through youth inclusion. He is excited to combine this research with the advocacy of the Policy Officer role to enhance the quality of life for students in Nova Scotia.
