Mend The Gap, is a multi-pronged campaign run by student volunteers, with the help of StudentsNS, which aims to encourage and support more women to run for student union executive positions. The campaign has five separate components: Research, Events, Mentorship, Advertising on Campuses and Online/Social Media Engagement. It’s goal is to encourage participation among women regardless of backgrounds and identities to run for leadership positions in politics by exposing the issue of underrepresentation and by offering a space around which students can develop peer and mentor relationships that support ongoing leadership in political participation and activism.
